Our Ladies Club Championships has completed and Jo Flaherty has come in as Club Champion.  Congratulations go to all our girls on a great Club Champion competition.

The second round of the women’s championships was played on Thursday; Jo Flaherty is the clear leader of A Grade on 149, B grade is also hotting up with Jane Thompson and Denise Harmon both on 184 and Anne Eccles leads C Grade on 206.
The annual Police and Community Day was held on Monday. 76 players did turn up to contest the event that is a major fund raising activity. This year $7500 was collected and will go to the Port Fairy SES Unit.
The women staged the Jean Whitehead Bowl on Tuesday and had the usual roll up of 111 players. Cobden Golf Club provided the winning team of Carol Bennett, Debbie Rix and Fay Rundle who posted a combined score of 223.

This week featured Women's Jean Whitehead Bowl and Final Singles Knock Out.

The old fellows held another competition on Monday, this time a Four Ball Aggregate Stableford where John Nitschke and Bill Stewart excelled to record a total of 73 points and win by a shot.
Joanna Flaherty was a contestant in the Women’s Victorian Open Championship at 13th Beach Golf Club last weekend. Joanna played in the first two rounds in very difficult conditions but failed to make the cut.
Men's Club Championship concluded Sunday.

Fabulous weather, fabulous scores. Sam McCosh won the monthly medal on Saturday with a stunning nett 62, David McCosh excelled with a nett 65 to win B grade, Cathy Wagg won the women’s section with a brilliant nett 66 and a fine nett 67 gave Warwick Taylor the A grade honours.
Port Fairy’s fantastic summer weather has brought out the golfers this week.
This week includes Pro Comp, Maureen Leishman Summer Cup (for ladies), VET's 2 person ambrose and 27 Hole Moyneyana Open.

The deadline for memberships is the 31st of January so please get yourself organised for the 2014 golfing year.

The new handicapping system will come into effect on the 24th so expect your handicap to be a little different the next time you play.

A few players broke the sound barrier on Saturday. Brian Solomon had a superb 45 points, Damian Dobson had a hole in one on the 4th and Dylan O’Keefe eagled the 12th and the 18th. Great golf by all concerned.

A large field of 167 played on Saturday the 28th and the day belonged to Darren Williams who had the best score of the day with 40 Stableford points, produced a Hole in One on the 11th and won the nearest the pin on the 18th. Congratulations Darren on a great round of golf.
